career counselling career guidanceCareer, is the lifetime endeavor to an individual. Once he/she chooses an option during his/her career path, there is no u-turn or un-do button to restart. Hence taking right step at each and every stages of career becomes very important, if it is supported by an expert counsellor, it defenetly brings down future regrets. An expert counsellor is one who understands the several personality and skill abilitiy parameters of an individual and at the same time they can clearly define clearly the required traits of each career options. They can help the candidate to identify inborn traits and acquired skills and abilities and to choose only those careers which better suits and take an informed decision. They can direct the candidates to move on the right career path and reach to the aspired career that can give them life satisfaction.
What matters is a skill in any activity or task you perform, I as a Career Counsellor would be able to understand the personality trait of an individual were i have obtained skills about understanding the personality traits of a human being.
As all fingers are not the same every human being has different likes and dislikes in what he would do and what he would not like to do. So its important for people to understand the importance of why career counseling can be done by Career Counsellors only
Career guidance is given for different people at different age for their respective queries regarding career.An expert can give counselling which is like consulting a friend, relative, senior but due focus on the counsellee or say 100 percent attention towards them.Others may just pass time or may even beat about the bush.A career counsellor with expert knowledge can make a counsellee get precise answers with all the perspectives.
I consider career counsellors role to that of a Doctor .Like what a qualified doctor does is to talk to u patiently,understand your pain points ,probes further on the short term and long term implications of all that the patient has to say and based on all that either recommends a test for diagnosis followed by a remedy or otherwise offer a suitable remedy rightaway.
An expert career counsellor acts like a doctor ....she understands your core values /skills /interest /aptitude .....your choice or selection of a preferred career path ....analyses the possibilities ,implications,and last but not the least suggests you alternatives,or mentors you to tread that path of your choice.
Remember ,career is not something "one size firs all".Each individual is unique and should be guided in a unique ,customused way to acheive their career goals.
Hence consulting an expert career counsellor can save a lot of time and frustration in later years of life.
